 I am extremely pleased to know that QURTUBA UNIVERSITY, D .I . Khan is launching bachelor and master degree courses in information technology, computer science and in related business administration programs.
The present government is particularly keen to promote private sector universities / institutions in southern districts of N.W.F.P. Since the existing limited number of public sector educational institutions in these backward areas cannot provide facilities of higher education to our youth in accordance with their needs. It is for this reason that the government is encouraging private sector to come forward and augment our efforts in setting up seats of higher learning in the southern parts of N.W.F.P. The establishment of QURTUBA UNIVERSITY, D.I.Khan is one such important step in this direction.
I appreciate the efforts of sponsors of QURTUBA foundation to have launched QURTUBA UNIVERSITY in D.I.Khan .The UNIVERSITY is expected to cater to the needs of D.I.Khan, in particular ,and the neighboring areas across the Indus river ,namely ,Mianwali, Bhakkar, and Layyia, in general.
I wish QURTUBA UNIVERSITY success in the noble mission of imparting quality education in the much-needed disciplines of information technology, computer science, business administration, law and education so that, after leaving the portals of their 'alma mater', the graduates can serve the community with distinction and help the government in improving the socio-economic life of our people.

 I am pleased to know that Qurtuba University of Science & Technology, D.I.Khan (N.W.F.P) is completing two years of its existence in August 2003.
Universities play a key role in the development, progress and prosperity of a country through the production of high-quality manpower in all fields of knowledge. It is for this reason that our government is encouraging the private sector to come forward and augment our efforts of national development. I hope that Qurtuba University will play the role assigned to it with dedication and devotion.

 The establishment of QURTUBA UNIVERSITY of science and information technology, with its campuses at D.I.Khan / Peshawar and, subsequently, at Islamabad and in other major cities of the country, is the realization of a long-cherished dream. We are thankful to Allah, THE All Mighty for bestowing the honor upon us. We are also indebted to the honorable governor, N.W.F.P, Lt. General (R) Syed Iftekhar Hussian shah, HI (M), S. Bt for kindly issuing N.O.C to QURTUBA UNIVERSITY for launching its academic programs, and to the UNIVERSITY grants commission, Islamabad, for recommending to the Government of N.W.F.P, the grant of Charter to QURTUBA UNIVERSITY. We will work hard “Insha Allah”, to uphold the trust reposed in us and to revive the memories of the glorious past of our ancestors and the “City of QURTUBA “, which was once known as “Madinatul-llm” around the world.

 QURTUBA UNIVERSITY of science and information technology enjoys a unique position amongst the private sector institutions. It is a young institution but has more than two decades of meritorious services in the field of education. With a highly qualified faculty and modern laboratories, it provides an ideal environment for the professional training as well as moral up bringing of young graduates. Its curriculum is designed in such a way that in addition to the prescribed courses, the students will be able to work on the real life projects of information technology computer software and hardware. QURTUBA courses of studies are practical and job oriented, focusing on the real problems and challenges in the field.
The 21 century has been called the era of information technology. It will have, no doubt, far reaching impact not only on the trade, commerce and industry, but also on several aspects of our daily life. QURTUBA has come up in response to the growing needs of higher education in the field of IT and related disciplines. The two campuses of the UNIVERSITY at D.I khan and Peshawar offer bachelor and master degree courses in computer sciences, information technology and business administration. Excellent laboratory and library facilities are available. It is hoped that our young graduates will make the best use of these facilities and endeavor to make their own contributions to the socio-economic uplift of the nation.
